Job Description

As an F5 Engineer at DISH, you will be part of the IT F5 Team, focused on streamlining access and connectivity to DISH’s core business applications and enabling partner connectivity in a safe and secure manner. This role involves creating new VIPs, managing pool members, ensuring SSL configurations, writing custom iRules, and troubleshooting connectivity issues in a virtual environment spanning public and private clouds. You will also be responsible for joining outage bridges to resolve connectivity issues and providing on-call support after hours.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain DISH’s F5 environments across all lines of business.
  • Support existing systems and services.
  • Troubleshoot application layer connectivity issues with other teams.
  • Provide technical and architectural solutions to the team.
  • Provide support to development teams, partners, and stakeholders using F5 technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of direct hands-on experience managing F5 devices.
  • Experience in supporting multiple F5 LTM, APM, and/or GTM platforms.
  • Proficiency in VIP creation, certificate and SSL profile creation, pool creation, and iRules.
  • Expertise in packet capture analysis, multiple tier application support, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, VMware, and scripting (Bash/Python/Ansible).
  • F5 Certifications are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovate.
