Job Description

The Member Experience Lead (MEL) at VASA Fitness is responsible for creating a welcoming, non-intimidating environment and delivering an exceptional member experience. The ideal candidate is engaging, positive, and organized, leading by example to develop a high-performing team. The MEL plays a vital role in maintaining the club's UPLIFT culture and values in all interactions and communication.


  • Ensure the team creates and maintains the UPLIFT culture in the club.
  • Implement the welcoming, non-intimidating VASA experience for guests and members.
  • Recruit, hire, and train all Member Experience Specialists (MES) team members.
  • Lead by example to ensure UPLIFTing culture and values are the foundation for every interaction.
  • Promote REVIVE sales, maintain clean facilities, and optimize staff performance.

Management Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in forecasting staffing needs and conducting interviews.
  • Facilitate training for new MES team members and create a welcoming environment for candidates and new hires.
  • Evaluate team member interactions, provide coaching and feedback, and delegate tasks to maximize efficiencies.
  • Teach and coach MES staff on VASA's approach to convert a guest to a member and implement sales plans.

Leadership and Coaching

  • Communicate, lead by example, and motivate the team to develop passion for the brand and values.
  • Provide ideas and solutions to move the business forward, prioritize tasks, and build strong relationships.
  • Delegate tasks, provide coaching in the moment, and contribute to succession planning conversations.
