Job Description

You will play a crucial role as a Senior Company Licensing Specialist at American Family Insurance, providing expert guidance on state insurance company licensing requirements. Your responsibilities will include managing and filing company license applications for various corporate transactions such as expansions, mergers, and change of control. Reporting to the Manager, Company Licensing, you will coordinate filing processes, monitor governance activities, and build relationships across the insurance industry.


  • Coordinate, prepare, and file state insurance department company license applications for corporate transactions.
  • Monitor corporate governance activities triggering license application filings and Department of Insurance notifications.
  • Provide expert licensing guidance to Enterprise business areas.
  • Conduct analysis of current licensing status to identify underwriting companies for new initiatives.
  • Build business relationships with various industry stakeholders.
  • Administer company service of process and designation of registered agents for surplus lines authority companies.
  • Conduct regulatory research and analyze law sources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Solid knowledge of insurance industry licensing regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in conducting licensing regulatory research and analyzing regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead large complex projects and work with executive leadership.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

Physical Requirements: Work primarily involves sitting/standing.
