Job Description

You will provide expert licensing guidance to business areas on state insurance department company licensing requirements. You will conduct licensing analysis and identify underwriting companies to be utilized in connection with new licensing initiatives. You will manage and file company license applications for all licensed insurance companies within the American Family Insurance Group to ensure achievement of company licensing initiatives and goals for various corporate transactions.

Reporting to the Manager, Company Licensing, you will coordinate, prepare, and file state insurance department company license applications for corporate transactions and monitor corporate governance activities. Additionally, you will provide expert licensing guidance to Enterprise business areas, build business relationships within the industry, conduct regulatory research, and analyze law sources.


  • Coordinate, prepare, and file state insurance department company license applications for corporate transactions.
  • Monitor corporate governance activities that trigger company license application filings and DOI notifications.
  • Provide expert licensing guidance to Enterprise business areas.
  • Conduct analysis of current licensing and writing status of licensed companies to identify underwriting companies for new initiatives.
  • Build business relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Conduct regulatory research and analyze law sources.
  • Manage company service of process and designation of registered agents for surplus lines authority companies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Demonstrated expertise in providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Experience with company licensing corporate transactions and required filings.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry licensing regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in conducting licensing regulatory research and analyzing statutes and regulations.
  • Understanding of licensure compliance for regulated insurance entities.
  • Experience working with DOI industry regulators and managing complex projects.
  • Ability to work with executive-level leadership.
