Job Description

You will provide expert licensing guidance to business areas on state insurance department company licensing requirements. You will conduct licensing analysis and identify underwriting companies to be utilized in connection with new licensing initiatives. Manage and file company license applications for all licensed insurance companies within the AmFam Group to ensure achievement of company licensing initiatives and goals related to corporate transactions such as company expansion, mergers, acquisitions, surplus lines authority applications, name changes, and more. This role reports to Manager, Company Licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, prepare, and file state insurance department company license applications for corporate transactions.
  • Monitor corporate governance activities triggering company license application filings and DOI notifications.
  • Provide expert licensing guidance to Enterprise business areas.
  • Conduct analysis of current licensing and writing status of underwriting companies for new licensing initiatives.
  • Build relationships with various stakeholders including state insurance departments, regulatory authorities, and outside licensing experts.
  • Conduct regulatory research and analyze law sources.
  • Administer service of process and agent designations.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Experience in customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Solid understanding of insurance industry licensing regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in conducting licensing regulatory research and compliance.
  • Experience with licensure compliance of regulated insurance entities.
  • Skill in working with DOI industry regulators.
  • Demonstrated project management with multiple complex projects.
  • Experience engaging with executive-level leadership.
